Racehorse Corbetts Cross dies after suffering fall during Gold Cup at Cheltenham Festival

Corbetts Cross died, aged eight, after a heavy fall during the Gold Cup at Cheltenham Festival.

The racehorse, ridden by Jack Kennedy, sustained fatal injuries towards the end of the fifth race of the day. An official statement from Cheltenham read: 

‘In our fifth race of the day, Corbetts Cross was immediately attended to by our veterinary professionals, but sadly sustained a fatal injury. Our heartfelt condolences are with his connections.’
