Trump launches ‘large-scale’ attack on Iran-backed Houthi terrorists

President Donald Trump on Saturday announced that the United States had launched a military offensive against Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen, a return to the muscular foreign policy that was a cornerstone of his first term.

The New York Times reported that the “large-scale” strikes specifically targeted “radars, air defenses, and missile and drone systems.”

Trump said in a message that the terror group had “waged an unrelenting campaign of piracy, violence, and terrorism against American, and other, ships, aircraft, and drones.”

The strikes, believed to be only the opening salvo, are expected to last several days and could significantly increase in intensity depending on the response from the terrorist group.
