Niger state governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has expressed sorrow over the tragic petrol tanker explosion that occurred in Agaie local government area, resulting in the loss of both lives and properties.
Bago’s sadness was expressed in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim on Sunday, September 8.
The statement reads: “Niger State Gov, Farmer Mohd Umaru Bago expresses sadness over the petrol tanker explosion that occurred in Agaie LGA, resulting in loss of lives and property.
“The Farmer Governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, says he is pained by the unfortunate incident and the colossal loss incurred.
“While commiserating with all those who suffered losses in the incident, Farmer Gov says State Govt through the Niger State Emergency Mgt Agency (NSEMA) and other relevant organisations have been mobilised to d scene of the accident for rescue operation and other necessary actions.
“He calls for calm by the residents of the affected area and also encourages road users to always be cautious and abide by road traffic regulations to safeguard lives and property.
“The farmer Gov prays Allah will repose the souls of the departed and grant quick recovery to those injured.
“The petrol tanker explosion, which was said to have occurred about 2 km away from Dendo Community in Agaie, headquarters of Agaie LGA of Niger State claimed lives of people, burnt cattle and destroyed vehicles.”
