Olubadan-designate Rashidi Ladoja has promised to return to Ibadan Boys’ High School after his coronation, reconnecting with his alma mater by teaching Physics and Mathematics to students.
Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has pledged to visit his alma mater, Ibadan Boys’ High School, after his coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, and teach Physics and Mathematics to students during the visit.
Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State and respected Ibadan High Chief, made the promise on Monday while receiving the school’s management team, led by Principal Rasheed Fasasi, at his Bodija residence in Ibadan.
“Beyond being an alumnus of the school, I was also a former teacher here, where I taught Mathematics and Physics. So, during my visit after the coronation, I will engage the students in classwork,” he said.
The Olubadan-designate recalled his teaching days with pride, describing the forthcoming visit as a chance to reconnect with his roots and inspire students. He also praised the principal for sustaining the school’s reputation as a model institution.
In his remarks, Fasasi expressed optimism that the monarch’s presence would rekindle students’ pride in their school and boost morale. He congratulated Ladoja on his upcoming coronation and prayed for a peaceful reign.
Ladoja, who ascended as Olubadan-designate following the death of Oba Lekan Balogun in March 2024, is expected to be crowned later this year in a ceremony that will reaffirm Ibadan’s unique succession system and cultural heritage.
