Lagos, Nigeria — Petrol stations across Lagos increased pump prices over the weekend, with fuel now selling between N925 and N935 per litre. The hike follows a rise in landing costs and recent changes to the Dangote Refinery’s sales policy.
Major marketers, including TotalEnergies and MRS, adjusted their prices to N935 and N925 per litre, respectively. The increase comes as the landing cost of petrol jumped to N843.28 per litre last Monday, up from N797 per litre two weeks prior—a N46 per litre increase. Industry sources attribute the spike to the Dangote Refinery’s decision to halt naira-denominated petrol sales and ongoing delays in finalizing the naira-for-crude exchange policy.
