After a brief lull in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), protesters returned to the streets on Saturday.
At Eagles Square, there was a noticeable increase in security personnel stationed at the site, in contrast to the previous three days when there were no protests.
The demonstration began at 7 a.m. with protesters chanting slogans such as “End hunger” and “Reverse fuel subsidy removal.”
Hundreds of police officers were deployed to major hotspots in response to the action.
On Friday evening, police and other security agencies heightened their surveillance in the capital.
The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) issued a warning on Saturday, emphasizing its readiness to prevent any potential disturbances before, during, and after the protests.
