The National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has declared that only his party can remedy the hardship Nigerians face.
On Thursday, the NNPP presidential candidate in the 2023 general election urged Nigerians to pitch their tent with his party to overcome the biting hardship and what he described as “maladministration” of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Kwankwaso who welcomed over 963 APC leaders and members from Dala Local Government Area, Kano, into NNPP, insisted that APC has lost focus and must be shown the way out in 2027.
He expressed optimism that NNPP will record 100 percent victory in the forthcoming Local Government elections in the state.
The former Governor of Kano state who renewed his intention to re-contest the presidential election in 2027 boasted that his party has everything it takes to bring about the desired change Nigerians need.
According to him, even though Nigerians are facing serious hardship due to what he described as bad leadership by the APC-led government at the federal level, Kano state is making a difference through the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf-led NNPP government which is recording uncommon achievements in both infrastructural and human development.
Kwankwaso spoke at his Miller/Club Road mansion, where he received the entire leadership structure of APC in Dala which collapsed into NNPP.
He said: “I thank the people of Kano, including the women and youths for their continued support of our great party, the NNPP. Today is a historic day as over 963 members of APC led by the party chairman joined our great party.
” We are happy that people have now seen the light. We are so glad that people have realized the truth, and they have joined us.
” We are happy that Dala is now fully Kwankwasiyya because all the who-is-who in politics there have joined NNPP.
“They have now realized their mistakes, and we are welcoming them with open hands since they have found solace in NNPP.”
Kwankwaso insisted that “APC has lost focus, as Nigerians suffer unemployment, inflation caused by subsidy removal.
” This is the time for change. I am calling on our people in Kano, and all over northern Nigeria, and indeed, all Nigerians to have a rethink.
“This is the time for us to take our destinies into our own hands. I call on you all to join NNPP for a better Nigeria.”
