Breaking: Ekweremadu, Abaribe pull out of Enugu, Abia PDP governorship contest

Enyinnaya Abaribe and Ike Ekweremadu at the Senate

The immediate past Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and incumbent Minority leader at the Senate Enyinnaya Abaribe on Wednesday withdrew from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary elections in Enugu and Abia states.

Speaking through a statement by the Director-General of Ikeoha Campaign Organisation, Hon. Charles Ogbo Asogwa, Ekweremadu who did not give reason for his withdrawal, said, “We wish to inform our supporters and Nigerians that the former Deputy President of the Senate and foremost governorship aspirant in Enugu State, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, will not be participating in the PDP governorship primary election scheduled for this Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
