Tinubu receives Wike, Makinde two months after election victory

Governor Nyesom Wike of River State and his counterpart in Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, paid a courtesy visit to the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, at the Defence House on Friday evening.

The development is coming two months after the former Lagos State governor was declared winner of the contentious 2023 presidential election.

Tinubu had polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party flag bearer, who got 6,984,520 and 6,101,533 votes respectively.

But Atiku and Obi rejected the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, with each claiming at separate press conferences that the election was fraught with violence…
