Former governor of Kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai, announced during his senate screening that President Bola Tinubu’s vision is to guarantee a consistent power supply throughout Nigeria within seven years.
El-Rufai, who was asked by Senator Abdulaziz Yari about his strategies to confront the energy crisis, pointed to Tinubu’s resolution to permanently resolve the issue.
He emphasized that without a steady electricity supply, substantial industrialization cannot occur.
He acknowledged the persisting issues in the power sector, saying, “It has defied every president.
“Tinubu is committed to ensuring that Nigeria has a stable and reliable electricity supply.
“The president’s vision is that within seven years we will not have power outages in this country.”
Despite these challenges, he stated that Tinubu had asked him to collaborate on addressing the power problem, a task he is ready to undertake.
