Patience Jonathan pledges to support Tinubu, wife in moving Nigeria forward

A former former first lady, Patience Jonathan has paid a courtesy visit to the incumbent, Senator Oluremi Tinubu at the presidential villa, Abuja and pledged to support her.

Jonathan gave the assurance on Wednesday while calling on other women to follow suit in lending their support to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in moving Nigeria forward.

In a social media post by an aide to the current first lady, Busola Kukoyi, Jonathan also assured Nigerian women that Senator Tinubu will carry them along while ensuring a time of Renewed Hope.

“Former First Lady, Her Excellency Dame Patience Jonathan paid a courtesy visit to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON,” Kukoyi wrote.

According to her, the former first lady described it as a solidarity visit to assure Senator Tinubu of her support.

“She also assured Nigerian women that the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will carry all Nigerian women along and ensure a time of Renewed Hope,” Kukoyi stated.

Dame Jonathan also thanked the first lady for how far she has so far been impacting the lives of Nigerian women.

She said she saw it as a responsibility for her, as a former president’s wife, to also support and encourage Mrs Tinubu on things that would move the country forward.

Jonathan commended women groups for their support to President Tinubu and his wife while pleading to them to ensure that they maintain their support so that the government can sustain the patriotic efforts.

“You are one of the women that I look forward to, because you can make Nigerian women proud; I am here to encourage and support you because we are one country and our country must move forward,” she added.
