Alliance talks: Join Tinubu rather than Atiku, Kwankwaso – Ohanaeze tells Peter Obi

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has urged the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, to join President Bola Tinubu in alliance rather than his counterparts from the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.

Ohanaeze described the planned alliance against the All Progressives Congress (APC) as satanic and said it would put the APC-led Federal Government on its toes and ensure President Bola Tinubu delivers on his electoral promises.

This is according to a statement by the factional Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, who said the alliance would collapse because Nigerians would not accept Kwankwaso or Atiku.

Isiguzoro said Atiku’s desperation to attain power wouldn’t allow him to support Obi to lead the opposition.

The statement reads partly: “Peter Obi, Atiku, and Kwankwaso’s plan to take power from APC is not only a pipe dream but satanic. The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, insisted that the ongoing reported talk between the opposition political party leaders is a welcome development as it will put the APC-led Federal Government on its toes to ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration delivers all the campaign promises to Nigerians.…
