Bala Mohammed turned against Tinubu after saving him from court – Dogara alleges

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has criticized Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, for his sudden change in stance regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Dogara alleged that after securing his position through questionable means, Mohammed sought Tinubu’s assistance to avoid legal issues, praising the President during that period.

However, Dogara pointed out that just a few months later, Governor Mohammed has now described Tinubu as “inept, incompetent, and incapable of running Nigeria.”

DAILY POST recalls that Governor Bala Mohammed had criticized President Tinubu’s policies following the #EndBadGovernance protests, accusing the administration of causing hardship to the people.

As Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, the main opposition party, Mohammed also urged President Tinubu to revise his policies, warning that they could jeopardize his chances for reelection in 2027.

In response to the governor’s recent comments, Dogara issued a press release titled “On Governor Bala Mohammed’s Latest Tirade and Truculent Buffoonery,” where he condemned the governor’s statements as unnecessary and uncalled for.

Dogara remarked, “When Governor Bala Mohammed was facing legal challenges after rigging his way into office and desperately needed PBAT to save him, he was praising the President to the highest heavens, despite being the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum.”

He continued, “Now, just months after PBAT saved him, he has turned around to call the President ‘inept, incompetent, and incapable of running Nigeria.’ If he keeps this up, I might even invite him to chair our 2027 presidential campaign.”

Dogara further stated, “These are challenging times in Nigeria, with heightened tensions and political unrest. The role of leaders, regardless of their political affiliations, is to work towards resolving this crisis by urging governments at all levels to address some of the protesters’ legitimate demands, particularly issues of hunger and widespread insecurity, in the national interest.”

He emphasized that “this is certainly not the time to blow all the dog whistles in the reckless manner Governor Bala Mohammed has.”
