The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has achieved a resounding landslide victory in Akoko Edo Local Government Area, alongside four other LGAs in the ongoing Edo governorship election.
The APC’s candidate dominated Akoko Edo, polling 34,847 votes to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, who garnered 15,865 votes. Labour Party’s (LP) Olumide Akpata secured 2,239 votes.
In Owan West LGA, Okpebholo maintained his lead with 12,277 votes, edging out Ighodalo, who received 11,284 votes.
In Esan West LGA, Okpebholo claimed victory with 12,952 votes, while Ighodalo closely followed with 11,004 votes. Akpata trailed behind with 342 votes.
Okpebholo also recorded a significant win in Egor LGA, scoring 16,760 votes. Ighodalo of the PDP came second with 14,658 votes, and Akpata polled 1,966 votes.
In Esan Central LGA, Okpebholo emerged victorious again, securing 10,990 votes, while Ighodalo polled 8,618 votes and Akpata garnered 418 votes.
