Ganduje, in a statement on Monday through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment, Oliver Okpala, said calls for his arrest are unwarranted.
The APC Chairman stated this in response to a petition co-signed by Dr. Johnson Nebechi and Comrade Umar Ideresu, the convener and spokesperson of the National Anti-Corruption Alliance (NACA), which requested the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate Ganduje.
However, the former Kano State Governor said the matter was already in court, and the petitioners should know better than to raise fresh issues on a matter still pending in court.
“The issues raised in their petition are matters that are key points in various cases filed by the Kano State government against Dr. Ganduje, which are still before the courts,” Okpala said.
He added that some of the allegations raised by NACA had already been resolved in Ganduje’s favour by the Federal High Court, and other issues were pending in court, so taking such before law enforcement or anti-corruption agencies again amounts to sub judice.
