The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has voiced optimism about the party’s chances of reclaiming Kano State from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP). Ganduje claims the influence of NNPP leader Rabiu Kwankwaso is weakening, with many of his followers abandoning him due to dissatisfaction with his leadership.
Speaking at the 8th and 9th APC Kano State House of Assembly Forum dinner on Monday, Ganduje, represented by Kano State APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas, said the NNPP’s victory in 2023 was largely due to internal issues within the APC that caused divisions among its members.
“I’m always surprised when Rabiu Kwankwaso boasts about his popularity. Without our internal problems that caused defections, he wouldn’t have won any elections in Kano,” Ganduje stated.
He added that many former supporters of Kwankwaso are now disappointed. “Those who helped him achieve victory regret their decision. I assure you, we are done with Kwankwasiyya. Even the governor isn’t fully aware of the challenges within his administration,” he said…
