Qhina was last seen on her way to work, at Tygerberg Hospital, on Monday morning, where she works as a cleaner.

Her family said she was preparing to go on the date after work.

“As the family, we pray she returns home safe and unharmed. We don’t understand why people would do such cruel things to an innocent person.

’’There was never a day where she wouldn’t come back from work and, if it happened that she came back late, she would report and let people know, but this time around it was different.

“What is very disturbing is that there is a person who is using her phone and that causes too much stress on family members.

The family of a missing woman say they are being taunted by her kidnappers.

They say they’ve been receiving shocking photos of Andiswa Qhina, 32, from Samora Machel, who was last seen by relatives on Monday at 6am when she left for her cleaning job at Tygerberg Hospital.

Her colleagues say she never arrived at work and that evening her mother, who is in Gauteng, received a string of texts from her alleged abductor.

They now fear the mother of two will be sold as a sex slave.

The first picture received was of Andiswa still wearing the jacket she wore that morning, blindfolded with a green scarf, and with foam coming out of her mouth.

In the second picture, she is naked, blindfolded and foaming at the mouth.

Her aunt Nonzaliseko Dlova, 48, says she received a horrifying call from her sister.

“She told us that she received text messages from a man who said he is Nigerian. She must send R50 000 within two minutes or he is going to take Andiswa to Nigeria and we will never see her again,” explains the devastated woman.

“He then posted pictures of her with foam coming out of her mouth, he said my niece is going to make money for him. I don’t know what that means.”

On Tuesday, a family friend shared a missing person post on Facebook and yesterday the abductor updated Andiswa’s WhatsApp status with several messages, threatening the family.

The updates read: “I can see you are looking for her sheim on you”; “Say something to your daughter for the last time”; “I know every step you taking so watch out”; “I think it will be good to you guys to see her naked pictures can I send it South Africa”; “You can trace the number but you won’t get nothing stupid South Africans”; “You are playing with my mind so I’m coming to her family watch the movie South Africa.” [sic]

The last picture is of a syringe with a substance in it, white powder and a spoon.

Nonzaliseko says her niece may have been in trouble because she was in debt and needed a quick buck.

“She had contacted someone who I think is a witch doctor so she could have more money because she owes her co-worker money,” she said.

“I warned her not to contact the person but I suspect that she may have gone ahead and we don’t know who it is.”

SAPS’ André Traut confirms “the kidnapping is under investigation by SAPS and the DPCI”.
