According to reports in Italy, an AC Milan player was mistakenly stopped and searched by the Italian Police at gun point
Italian Police stopped former Chelsea midfielder, Tiemoue Bakayoko at gunpoint after being mistaken for a gun-shooting suspect.
Bakayoko was in his SUV when he was stopped at gunpoint by the Police, forced to rest on the Police vehicle and was searched while guns were pointed at his passengers.
Per Italian journalist, Tancredi Palmeri and a video footage of the July 3rd incident, the former Monaco player’s identity was mistaken and it took another Police officer’s intervention before the search stopped.
Tancredi Palmeri on X (formerly Twitter): “Shocking footage of Milan’s Bakayoko in Milan’s downtown held at gunpoint by police cause taken for someone else.Check when one of cop goes telling to the colleague searching him that it’s not the suspect but a Milan player, and the cop saying “WHO?!?” pic.twitter.com/B0PTYiXnc5 / X”

A cooperative Bakayoko was calm as the search continued and the Police officer was stunned to discover he’s an AC Milan player after being told by a colleague.
A statement by the Italian Police said a shooting had happened in the area in hours before Bakayoko’s arrival to the area and the description of the suspect was similar to the player’s.
In an embarrassing incident, the player didn’t tussle and was eventually released.
The incident has now gone viral as the video footage continues to make the rounds.
