DAILY STAR

A judge in the US has committed suicide a year after she was forced to resign after an ethics probe regarding claims she wanted to protect her daughter.

Melanie Andress-Tobiasson, 53, left her position as Justice of Peace after claims of her daughter being involved in prostitution prompted an ethics investigation.

Andress-Tobiasson was found dead on Friday (January 20), according to 8NewsNow.

Details of where her body was found or how she died have not yet been released.

The investigation into Andress-Tobiasson began after she claimed to be trying to save her daughter Sarah from a prostitution ring.

According to the Daily Mail, she believed the clothing store that Sarah worked in was just a front for a criminal operation.

Nevada’s Judicial Discipline Commission investigated the former lawyer for two years after she urged police to check out the clothing store.
