The top five transfer targets of the 2022 January window

Marca

The rapidly approaching 2022 January transfer window could see some of Europe’s biggest stars on the move. The rumours keep coming and Europe’s top teams are looking for the missing pieces that will put them on top.

This includes players like Erling Haaland or Eden Hazard, with the five most eye-catching potential transfers outlined below.

Kylian Mbappe

The jewel in the crown, Kylian Mbappe is the most sought after player on the market. PSG refused to let him go in the summer, but now his contract ends in June 2022, when he will be able to sign freely with any team.

PSG might now decide they don’t want to be left empty handed and could accept a good offer this winter, especially from Real Madrid, who are the number one candidate to bring in the young talent.

Eden Hazard

One of the players who could leave Real Madrid is Eden Hazard, who was called to be the replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo but has not performed even half as well as the club hoped.

It is rumoured that he could return to England, while former club Lille are also believed to be interested in one day bringing him back.

Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial could be on his way out of Old Trafford sooner rather than later, with the Frenchman having come to the conclusion that his time at Manchester United is up.

Several clubs would be interested, including JuventusAtletico MadridBarcelonaNewcastleArsenal and Sevilla.

Erling Haaland

The Norwegian forward has been one of the most coveted players for some seasons and his release clause will be 75 million euros from this summer, making him one of the most expensive jewels.

Barcelona have been linked with him, as well as several other top clubs, with Borussia Dortmund‘s early Champions League exit meaning the striker might even be sold in January instead of at the end of this season.

One of the players who could go out to raise money for Barcelona is the full-back Sergino Dest. The USMNT player has not managed to take off as expected and, coupled with his multiple injuries, could leave the team.

Chelsea have already prepared an offer for the American of 30m euros, so his departure from Barcelona is very likely, especially with Dani Alves brought in already.
