Jose Mourinho calls out 'scum' for blaming Roma player for Wijnaldum injury

Gini Wijnaldum’s career has taken another hit, with the Dutch international expected to miss the upcoming FIFA World Cup after breaking his leg in training. Wijnaldum joined Jose Mourinho’s Roma side on loan a couple of weeks ago after an underwhelming season at PSG.

After impressing under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool for five seasons, Wijnaldum made the move to the French capital, but he found it difficult to nail down a starting place in their stacked midfield.

AS Roma supporters were ecstatic about the signing of the 31-year-old, but reports a couple of days ago confirmed that Wijnaldum had suffered a bad injury in training.

Some people online blamed youngster Felix Afana-Gyan for Wijnaldum’s injury after reports came out during the week that Gyan had been the one who tackled their new signing.

With Gyan receiving a lot of hate and abuse from people online, Jose Mourinho released a statement on his Instagram account, where he called people that were targeting Gyan “scum”.
