Manchester United Must Increase Their Offer to Secure Antony

Erik ten Hag’s team had a bid rejected as the reigning Eredivisie champions made their stance clear on keeping Antony this transfer window.

The 22-year-old is reportedly keen on a move to the Red Devils and on reuniting with his former coach, though, and has proceeded to try and force his club’s hand in overseeing his transfer.

Antony skipped two consecutive training sessions and was not included in Ajax’s matchday squad for their fixture against Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday, August 21. United have already agreed personal terms with the star ahead of their potential new offer.

The Athletic reported: “Sources close to Ajax expect United to make another bid for Antony… With some placing the potential offer at £79.4 million.”

Ajax Want Maximum Money to Replace Main Man

There has been scepticism regarding the hefty price tag attached to the Brazilian, however, it’s important to note the crucial first-team players that have departed the Dutch side this summer, including Ryan Gravenberch, Sebastian Haller and Lisandro Martinez.

With Antony being one of the club’s main attackers, Alfred Schreuder and his entourage will undoubtedly need to find a replacement for the current season. Should he leave in the coming days, they will need to work quickly to secure a suitable forward before the end of the window…
