Liverpool are setting their sights on German international Leon Goretzka to bolster their midfield, with star players Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, and even Thiago Alcantara rumored to be heading for the exit.
We are told that Jurgen Klopp sees Goretzka as a prime candidate to fill the centre of the park, while Thomas Tuchel, his former Bundesliga rival, has subtly hinted that he may be allowed to find another club.
Bayern Munich are open to selling Goretzka this summer as they look to overhaul the side, with a price tag thought to be around €40milllion.
Klopp has been vocal about his admiration for the 28-year-old, while we are told he has made his compatriot a target.
One of the most attractive aspects of Goretzka is his versatility, being able to effectively operate as a No.6, No.8, or No.10.
The German explained his decision in turning down Klopp back in 2018 when the Reds made an approach for him.
Speaking to The Athletic, Goretzka said: He said: “They were a consideration, of course. They’re a great club, and their development since Klopp came has been amazing.
“We’re all a little proud of him winning the title. But I took a long time making my decision, and I was 100 per cent sure that Bayern was the right move for me.”
