Liverpool draw up potential Salah replacement shortlist

VIA TRIBUNA:

Liverpool have insisted that Mo Salah is not for sale despite a huge offer from Al Ittihad.

However, behind the scenes, the Reds have evaluated players that could replace the Egyptian with Juventus’ Federico Chiesa and Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix two names under consideration.

According to Caught Offside, the Saudi club should test Liverpool’s resolve to keep their talisman with a £100m offer before Friday night’s deadline.

But Calciomercato reports that Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi is another player the Reds are considering, adding that he “stands out as the most appealing candidate.”

Adeyemi is a player Jurgen Klopp ‘likes a lot’, and it’s not difficult to see why. Ending last season in strong form, he notched 11 goal contributions in his last 13 games.

Overall, he averaged 0.71 goals and assists per 90 in his debut season in the Bundesliga. That’s on the back of making 32 goal contributions for Red Bull Salzburg in 2021/22, including five in eight games in the Champions League.
