Nice pulled off a major upset and beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 away from home, with Terem Moffi inspiring their victory over the Ligue 1 champions.

The Nigerian gave Nice a first-half lead against the run of play, with his shot deflected in at the near post after Kylian Mbappe gave the ball away inside his own half.

Mbappe made amends eight minutes later, finishing off a sweeping move with a shot from the edge of the box which was too powerful for the goalkeeper to keep out.

Nice re-took the lead in the second half when Moffi went on an excellent run and crossed for Gaetan Laborde to volley home, and Moffi grabbed his second with a low shot after another probing run to round off a second rapid counter-attack.

PSG had by that point thrown on Randal Kolo Muani and the debutant crossed for Mbappe to score a superb late volley to set up a frantic finish, but Nice held on.

Nice leapfrog PSG in the table and are up to second, on nine points. PSG, in third place, are one point behind.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH – TEREM MOFFI (NICE)

An easy choice. The scorer of two goals and creator of another, Moffi was the difference between the two teams. PSG’s defence was justifiably terrified every time he ran at them.
