Barcelona vice-president, Eduard Romeu has said Lionel Messi will return to the club under “favourable circumstances”.
Since he left the LaLiga club for Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, Messi has continuously been linked with a move back.
This summer he, however, opted to join Inter Miami instead of returning to the Nou Camp.
With the MLS season set to finish at the end of the year, the prospect of Messi going back to Barca on loan has emerged again.
However, the move has been deemed impossible due to Barcelona’s continued financial woes.
Messi is likely to be given a tribute in front of the Barcelona fans once Camp Nou is open again and Romeu is confident it will happen.
“The only thing I would like, and the day and time will surely come, when the circumstances are favourable, is that we can pay him a great tribute,” he told L’Esportiu.
