FC Barcelona are reportedly monitoring Nigerian strikers, Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen ahead of next summer transfer window.
The Spanish giants are already planning for life without their top striker Robert Lewandowski who might want to bow out of elite European football anytime soon.
Even though the Poland international still has until June 30, 2026, before his current contract with Barcelona expires with a one-year extension option, Lewandowski who helped Barca win the La Liga title last season with 23 goals could move to the Saudi Pro League or MLS next summer.
In anticipation of that, Barca have lined up Anthony Martial, Artem Dovbyk, Mehdi Taremi, Moise Kean, Evan Ferguson, Santiago Giménez, Serhou Guirassy, Ollie Watkins, and Jonathan David as possible Lewandowski replacements, according to Diario Sport.
The La Liga champions are believed to have a premium option in Osimhen, but they must first meet Napoli’s £120 million demand.
The 24-year-old made a name for himself as one of Europe’s most exciting strikers the previous season with 26 goals in 32 league games, helping Napoli win their first Serie A title since 1990.
This season, he’s scored six goals in ten games, continuing his excellent form.
As for his countryman, Victor Boniface, the 22-year-old Nigerian striker has been enjoying an incredible debut season in the Bundesliga.
The Nigeria international has scored seven goals and provided three assists in nine Bundesliga games this season. In these nine games, the Nigerian international has won eight of them for Bayer Leverkusen.
