Austria beat Poland to close on last 16 at Euro 2024

Austria kept their Euro 2024 knockout stage hopes alive with an impressive 3-1 victory against Poland, in which Marko Arnautovic sealed the win with a late penalty. After Gernot Trauner gave Austria an early lead, Krzysztof Piatek equalised for Poland, but Christoph Baumgartner regained Austria’s advantage with a fine team move.

Although Robert Lewandowski, who had been struggling with a thigh injury, made a second-half appearance, he had little impact on the game.
