Celtic dominate Chelsea 4-1 in pre-season friendly

Celtic secured a 4-1 victory over Chelsea in their pre-season friendly at Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana.

The Scottish Premiership champions opened the scoring with Matt O’Riley’s composed finish from Greg Taylor’s pass. O’Riley then assisted Kyogo Furuhashi to double their lead before half-time.

Despite Chelsea having more possession and attempts on goal, Celtic’s new goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel was in outstanding form, preventing the Premier League side from finding a way back into the match.

Celtic extended their lead in the 76th minute when Luis Palma took advantage of a defensive error by Robert Sanchez and Benoit Badiashile to score their third goal.

Palma added an assist three minutes later as Mikey Johnston’s shot went under Sanchez, sealing the convincing win for Celtic.
