Fulham has agreed to a deal with Arsenal to acquire midfielder Emile Smith Rowe for an initial fee of £27 million, with potential add-ons totaling £7 million.
Smith Rowe becomes Fulham’s most expensive signing to date, with the add-ons tied to the club’s success in Cup and European competitions.
The 23-year-old was excluded from Arsenal’s last two pre-season games as the transfer was being finalized.
Smith Rowe, a product of Arsenal’s academy and a fan favorite, has seen his playing time diminish due to competition from Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Bukayo Saka.
