Chelsea seeks resolution for Conor Gallagher amid Atletico Madrid interest, confirms Maresca

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has acknowledged that the club is working to “find a solution” for Conor Gallagher amidst growing uncertainty about his future.

Gallagher, who has one year remaining on his contract, is attracting transfer interest from Atletico Madrid, who have reached an agreement with Chelsea.

Over the weekend, reports from The Sun revealed that the England midfielder has been excluded from first-team training following discussions with the club’s hierarchy. He is considering Atletico’s offer.

In a press conference during Chelsea’s U.S. tour, Maresca addressed the situation, maintaining a composed stance. He confirmed that the club has offered Gallagher a new contract and is seeking a resolution.

“The only thing I can say is I know he is in contact with the club to find a solution,” Maresca stated. “The club offered him a new contract. But this is, at the moment, the only news I received.

“In football, every summer, different clubs have some problems with some players and then at the end, they find a solution and everyone is happy. Hopefully, the same can happen in this situation. The squad we have, they are all players that if they are in the squad, I will do my best to try to use them and help them to understand the way we want to play.”

When asked if he wanted to keep Gallagher, who has also been linked with Tottenham, Maresca responded, “I would like to have all of them. If you ask the same question to the other managers, they will answer the same. It’s the same problem as always.”
