PSG at risk of Champions League ban over £47m in unpaid wages to Kylian Mbappe?

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) reportedly face the risk of being expelled from the Champions League over a £47 million unpaid wages dispute with their former striker, Kylian Mbappe.

The French national team captain spent seven years with the Ligue 1 champions before securing a long-anticipated move to Real Madrid earlier this summer.

Due to his substantial release clause with PSG, Mbappe had to complete his contract before leaving as a free agent to join Los Blancos.

The 25-year-old star made a dream debut in Madrid, scoring to help his new team secure a UEFA Super Cup victory against Atalanta just days ago.

However, his exit from PSG hasn’t been as smooth as expected, with tensions escalating between the player and his former club.

Mbappe is now demanding £47 million in unpaid wages from PSG. According to *Le Monde*, almost two months after his contract with the French club ended, Mbappe is still locked in a dispute with PSG and their primary shareholder, Qatar Sports Investments, over the unpaid sum.

The amount reportedly covers the final three months of his PSG contract, an ethics bonus for the same period, and part of a £30 million signing bonus.

In mid-June, Mbappe’s legal team issued a formal notice to PSG, but with no response, he has escalated the matter to UEFA and the Ligue de Football Professionnel’s (LFP) legal commission.

PSG, however, argue that Mbappe had agreed to forgo the payments if he left the club as a free agent.
