Alvaro Morata has been rushed to hospital just days after his Champions League heroics.
Reports suggests Morata suffered a clash of heads with an AC Milan team-mate during Thursday’s (November 7) training session. The Spaniard was then taken to a hospital in the Legnano district of Milan to undergo scans on his head.
ESPN claims the former Chelsea and Real Madrid striker hasn’t suffered “a serious injury.” However, he will still undergo further tests before he will be given the all-clear to return to action.
The Spanish international will now miss AC Milan’s Serie A match away to Cagliari on Saturday – with former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is expected to deputise in Morata’s absence.
Morata was part of the Milan side that beat Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Tuesday evening. Morata netted Milan’s second of the game, as they ran out 3-1 winners.
Speaking after the game he said: “I told the guys beforehand that it’s an important match, especially for us, but also for the fans and the club. We had to fight like lions, we played a great game, a serious performance.
