Liverpool captain van Dijk and fellow stars Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold all see their deals expire at the end of the season. Salah’s future is particularly under the spotlight after the Liverpool forward admitted publicly he could leave this summer while Real Madrid are courting Alexander-Arnold.
However, van Dijk – who looks set to stay – says the doubts surrounding three of the club’s biggest stars will not derail their chances of winning the Premier League title.
When asked about Salah’s future, van Dijk said: “As players we don’t worry about any of that. You are playing games and he is still part of all of us so we want to achieve success and that’s what he wants as well.”
Liverpool are already nine points clear at the top and their win over Manchester City pushed them 11 clear of the reigning champions. They face Newcastle on Wednesday and the Merseyside derby with Everton on Saturday lunchtime so it will be a testing time for Arne Slot ’s men.
