Arsenal have reportedly identified Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze as a potential replacement for the injured Bukayo Saka, according to UK publication Sportwitness. Saka suffered a hamstring injury during Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace and is expected to be sidelined for at least two months, leaving a significant gap in the team.
The 23-year-old England international was forced off after just 25 minutes of play and was seen leaving the stadium on crutches. While Saka avoided a more severe hamstring injury that could have sidelined him for up to six months, his absence still poses a challenge for manager Mikel Arteta during a crucial period of the season.
In response to the injury, Sportwitness reports that Arsenal are now considering a move for Chukwueze, who had been linked with a transfer to Aston Villa in recent weeks. The Nigerian winger could provide a much-needed boost to Arsenal’s attack as they navigate Saka’s absence.
