Former Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen was allowed to stay on after initially being sent off while playing for Ajax.
The Dutch midfielder was shown a straight red card during his side’s friendly Stuttgart.
Ajax faced the Bundesliga outfit in Germany in their first fixture of 2025.
Despite the non-competitive nature of the match, Klaassen was sent off just 11 minutes after coming on as a half-time substitute.
The Netherlands international was dismissed for a late tackle but was bizarrely allowed to continue playing.
In a post on X, Ajax confirmed: “Davy Klaassen received a red card but is allowed to continue playing after discussions between the two teams.”
