BAYERN STRIKES
Leroy Sané refuses to bow out without a fight at Bayern Munich. Even with his contract expiry on the horizon, the player is highly motivated to earn an extension.
According to Tobias Altschäffl and Christian Falk of SportBild, Sané is not considering offers from other clubs as his full focus is on the remainder of the season with Bayern Munich. With only six months left on his contract contract, the winger can hold talks with interested clubs.
However, Sané feels very comfortable in Munich and is determined to extend his contract and remain with the Rekordmeister for the upcoming seasons. The 29-year-old is even open to accepting a performance-based contract with reduced wages. On top of that, he would also be willing to sign an extension of just two years.
Sané spoke to SportBild about his desire to continue at FC Bayern.
Sané failed to hit the ground running this season which further worsened his case for a potential contract extension. Goals and assists have only come few and far between for the winger. It took him till December to string together a solid run of performances. With a brace in the 5–0 thrashing of Hoffenheim and an impactful showing against Wolfsburg, the winger will now head into the Champions League clash against Feyenoord in his best form so far this season. This resurgence, perhaps, gives the 29-year old hope to turn around his situation and earn a contract extension…
