Onuachu, who has scored 27 goals in all competitions this season in Belgium, was also a late replacement in November for the double AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone.
Coach Gernot Rohr received a lot of criticisms after the prolific striker was only placed on standby for the qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.
SCORENigeria has already reported that French Ligue 1 club FC Nantes have announced Moses Simon will not be released for the AFCON qualifiers on account of travel restrictions necessitated by the Coronavirus.
Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu was the other France-based player named on the main squad and he has since been replaced by Henry Onyekuru of Galatasaray after he suffered a thigh injury at the weekend.
