Will Genk release late replacement Onuachu to Super Eagles?

As fears continue to grow over the availability of several foreign pros for the Super Eagles decisive AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho, questions are now being asked whether Belgian club Genk will release Paul Onuachu for these matches.

After an uproar over his non-selection by coach Gernot Rohr, Onuachu has been drafted to replace FC Nantes winger Moses Simon for the AFCON qualifiers due to travel restrictions as regards the Coronavirus Pandemic.

However, Onuachu himself could also be held back in Europe because Coronavirus protocol mandates he has to quarantine on his return from Africa.

Such a quarantine would mean Genk will be without the leading scorer in the Belgian league for their matches immediately after the international break.
