Despite serious reservations by some players, the Super Eagles will travel by boat to Cotonou for their 2021 AFCON qualifier against next-door neigbours Benin.

Officials confirmed today that the Eagles will hit Cotonou via the waterways Friday morning.

They will stay overnight in Cotonou before they head to Porto-Novo on match day.

The match will kick off 5pm local time, which is the same as Nigeria.

They will return to Nigeria Sunday morning via Cotonou.

Nigeria will host bottom team Lesotho in a final AFCON qualifier on Tuesday inside the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

It is the first time in 10 years the Eagles have played in the country’s commercial capital.
