Christian Eriksen has moved to thank football fans all over the world for the support that has been shown to him as well as revealing that he ‘died for five minutes’ during last summer’s European Championship.
The Dane suffered a cardiac arrest during his country’s Euro 2020 opener against Finland back in June after collapsing towards the end of the first-half of the game.
Denmark captain Simon Kjaer and his team-mates created a human shield to protect prying eyes from the potential tragedy unfolding live on television.
Thankfully, Eriksen was revived by medical staff in attendance at the game, and following a short stay in hospital, was eventually allowed to return home.
