Rangers-linked striker Josh Maja has turned down a contract renewal proposal from French Ligue 2 side Bordeaux
According to L’Equipe (subscription required), the striker has refused to respond to the one-year extension offer (plus an optional year in the event of a rise) from the French side.
Having failed to respond to the offer within the time set by Bordeaux, they have now deemed that he does not want to continue his career at the club and are exploring alternatives.
Maja’a contract with the French second-tier side ended on the 30th of June, 2023 and is now a free agent and has been linked with a move to Scottish giants, Rangers.
The one-cap Nigerian International joined the Girondins in 2019 on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Sunderland.
