Former NFL wide receiver Mike Williams reportedly passed away this week following an accident on a construction site. He was just 36 years old.
“Multiple sources have confirmed to me that former Syracuse and #Bills WR Mike Williams has passed away following injuries suffered during an accident while working at a construction site,” Bills beat reporter Jon Scott reporter. “The Buffalo native was 36 years old.”
After the news broke, fans flocked to social media to remember the former Syracuse standout.
“Tragic news. Former Bucs WR Mike Williams has died following injuries in a construction accident, according to a TV station in Buffalo,” Buccaneers reporter Rick Stroud said. “Former fourth round pick of the Bucs in 2010. Had 964 yards receiving and 11 TDs and was a finalist for Pepsi Rookie of the Year.”

“Sad news. Some of my earliest memories in the Dome were Mike Williams touchdowns. May he rest in peace,” offered another.
