Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe once held talks with Liverpool before snubbing the club in order to join the French giants from rivals Monaco.
He previously had discussions with Liverpool owner John W Henry and was linked with a move to Anfield. And now, the 25-year-old forward has told PSG that he finally plans to leave the club after seven years there, according to The Athletic.
During his time at PSG, Mbappe scored 243 goals in 290 matches and won 13 major trophies. Real Madrid, though, are said to be leading the race to sign him on a free transfer, the Mirror reports.
However, some ‘influential’ members of Mbappe’s team are reportedly unhappy with the terms currently on offer. This could give long-term admirers Liverpool a chance to swoop in. It wouldn’t be the first time they’ll have tried to sign him either. In early 2017, while Mbappe was playing for Monaco, he was reported to have had a two-hour meeting with Liverpool chief Henry on his private jet.
