A woman has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect following the tragic death of Steve Bruce’s baby grandson.
Madison Smith was just four months old when he was found dead at his family’s home in Trafford on October 18 of this year. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said they responded to a report of “concern for welfare” at about 7.10am.
Following Madison’s death, police launched an investigation. A woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect, GMP confirmed.
Madison was the son of Bruce’s daughter, Amy, and her husband Matt Smith, who previously played for Salford City and Oldham Athletic.
Bruce took a step back from his position as Blackpool manager to grieve after the tragic event. In a poignant statement, the Manchester United legend thanked fans for their support and described it as “the worst time of my family’s entire lives”…
