Thousands of youths under the aegis of pro-Tinubu/Alia support groups on Thursday thronged the major streets of Makurdi, capital city of Benue State, to drum support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia’s second term.
The organisers said the goal is to highlight “two years of misrule, hardship, and insecurity” under President Bola Tinubu.

The security deployment came ahead of a planned demonstration by various civil society organisations and pro-democracy activists
Police operatives were seen patrolling the area, with demonstrators assembling peacefully under close surveillance.
The holiday was declared by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
He described the payment as a necessary symbolic act to bring closure to the June 12, 1993, presidential election crisis, in which Abiola was the presumed winner.
