Apple employees switch to Android phones to combat internal surveillance

The Washington Post has learned on condition of anonymity that staff at a number of Apple stores are going to unionize to protect their interests. At least two of the stores have already prepared documents to the U.S. National Labor Relations Board for official registration. The workers were prompted to take such actions by the unprecedented scope of surveillance and pressure on them within the corporation.

Notable fact – in order to somehow get out from under total control, Apple employees refuse its products and switch to Android phones. Lower-level employees have reasonable complaints about the management, which conducts non-transparent policies. In particular, despite the constant growth of profits and the astronomical capitalization of the corporation, many have not changed their hourly rate of pay for years. Management hides the real state of affairs in order to continue to exploit the collective.

Unions are necessary because dissenting loners at Apple are dealt with quickly and tellingly, as exemplified by the story of Ashley Gjovik. She was fired in 2021 when she started telling the media how sexual harassment was rampant inside the company along with surveillance of employees. In her words, Apple has developed an “internal culture of surveillance, intimidation, and alienation” and uses it without restraint.
