‘Undress anybody’ AI puts A-list deepfakes in adult films – and ‘no one’s safe’

Artificial intelligence is being used to put beautiful A-list stars in X-rated films in the form of scarily accurate deepfakes.

Experts are warning “no one is safe” after the likes of Taylor Swift and Natalie Portman were targeted. Activity on forums dedicated to using AI to “undress anybody” and place stars in adult movies has doubled, according to a new report by ActiveFence.

Forums discussing or sharing the sexually explicit content were up by 87% between February and August this year, compared to the same period last year, the online safety firm claimed, reports the Daily Mail.

Images of high-profile female celebrities have been manipulated by those using sophisticated technology to make them appear like they’re starring in lewd content. And it doesn’t take knowledge of the dark web to access the depraved material, with the deepfakes widely available from just a simple Google search, the Mail reported.

Horny fans have been fulfilling their wildest fantasies by sharing online tools that can turn almost any celebrity picture into illicit material. The sites allegedly claim to be able to strip anybody naked and are littered with a host of ‘how-to’ guides, including advice on picture selection.

Now, there’s been a boom in the industry, with thousands of people paying for the computer-generated material every month. One of the most popular deepfake porn sites has around 17 million visitors a month, according to SimilarWeb.

Researchers are worried about the AI-generated content’s impact on the wider public, with some alleging “no one is safe”. Thousands may have their images violated, and fall victim to deepfake revenge porn.
