TECH STARTUPS
Tech companies from around the world have once again gathered in Las Vegas to unveil their latest gadgets and ideas at CES 2025. As always, the event is buzzing with excitement, promising to deliver a year’s worth of tech news in just a few days.
The event started Monday and will run through Friday. And even after just one day, the announcements have been nothing short of impressive. Here’s a quick look at some of the highlights so far:
Samsung’s Smarter Home AI
Samsung took center stage with its “Home AI” system, which links household devices like TVs, refrigerators, and dishwashers into a seamless smart network. It even recognizes individual voices and predicts needs. For example, the system can dim lights when you doze off during a movie or activate a robot vacuum after you’re done using a hairdryer.
Samsung also introduced AI-powered TVs with a feature called “Click to Search,” which identifies objects on-screen, like meals, and provides relevant information, such as recipes. Another standout was the Micro LED Beauty Mirror, which uses AI to assess skincare needs and recommend personalized products.
Nvidia’s Big Moves in AI
Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, revealed cutting-edge AI technologies for robotics, self-driving vehicles, and gaming. Their new Cosmos Foundation models generate photorealistic videos for training robots and autonomous cars, making the process cheaper and more efficient.
On the gaming front, Nvidia introduced the GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards, delivering major upgrades in performance and AI-driven features. Additionally, Nvidia is partnering with Toyota, supplying their Orin chips and software for advanced driver assistance in upcoming car models.
LG’s Vision for “Affectionate Intelligence”
LG showcased its approach to blending AI with daily life through “Affectionate Intelligence.” The focus is on making AI interactions more personal and meaningful. Their enhanced AI Agent works across devices, offering updates and ensuring security with LG Shield. Collaborating with Microsoft, LG is pushing for more AI-integrated spaces, with applications at home, in vehicles, and businesses.
