Nigeria’s track star, Tobi Amusan, claimed silver in the women’s 100m hurdles final at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo on Sunday, reinforcing her place among the world’s elite hurdlers.

Amusan clocked an impressive 12.29 seconds, narrowly missing gold to Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who stormed to victory in a new national record of 12.24s.

The bronze medal went to America’s Grace Stark with a time of 12.34s, while her compatriot Masai Russell finished fourth in 12.44s.

The Nigerian hurdler, a former world champion and record holder, had entered the competition under immense scrutiny after earlier criticizing Team Nigeria’s kits for the tournament.
